Evo 8 or Ralliart 2009

Hi guys, need help.

I'm torn between buying a Evo 8 with km's around the 100k mark and a 2009 Ralliart with the same kms. Both hitting around the $20000 area.

Any help will be appreciated.

Honestly mate, the decision is up to you
$20k is alot of money (it is for me atleast) and the decision is going to be down to primarily personal taste.
Out of those 2 id prefer the E8 personally (prefer an E6 to an E8 tho :p )

Just watch out for the 100k milestone service, that can end up costing a few grand which i didnt take into consideration when i bought my car, but i used that as an opportunity to replace some ghetto stuff that was on there with Genuine OEM parts (if not better) to help later on down the track.

Good luck with the decision and just make sure your happy with whatever you choose.

Definitely comes down to personal taste. E8 is a lot more aggressive looking and still holds the older evo look to an extent, compared to the 09 ralliart. E5 or E6/6.5 are my personal favourites, they just have the classic aggressive rally look.
Why not take 1 of each for a spin and see what your own opinion is?

The E8 looks like it's had its major service, I'd personally buy the E8 but the ralliarts are really nice too!

The ralliart is auto.. I wouldn't get an auto evo unless it's sole purpose is for drags. But again this is personal taste. The E8 looks like it would be a much more enjoyable car.. and coz red haha that's a bit biased though. Let us know how you go :)

Cheers, because the RA is younger than the Evo 8 does it mean it will be on par with the E8? If that makes sense. Looking for more bang for my buck.

Read the description of them both man. The E8 is pumping out 300hp @19psi, it's gonna be a lot more fun than the RA from sale. RA looks fairly stock though the car yard hasn't put much of a description up, the E8 would probably beat it easily if you were to race them. Is it going to be a daily or weekender? Are you looking at modding it or leaving it basically how you buy it? There's lots of different things to consider when buying a car like either of the 2 you are looking at.

The E8 also looks pretty well kept. Car yards will tell you almost anything to get a sale.

These are completely different cars.
Bang for buck the evo 8 will be faster and will always be able to extract more power than the tc-sst equipped Ralliart.
But it will be noisier, bumpier
Also about the evo;
Iridium plugs are a poor choice
Don't beleive Tomei made a titanium front/dump for evos.
And the "as new" looking brakes could simply be a re-paint job.

Not sure if the E8 was aus delivered or grey import. If it's the latter always check log books and/or export certificate from Japan to verify kms. If not, then to confirm kms do a Japanese Vehicle History Check for $40 usd.

If none of these are available then don't bother.

Trust me there are a lot km windbacks on import evos which i luckily became aware of just before i bought mine.
