Door locks

Everytime i try to open the door from locked the passenger door wont open fully if i open using key from driver side, you can see it move but not enough to unock. however if i lock it from driver side, both doors lock fine.

anyone got a fix? hoping its just a simple wd40 job on the connections, but i have one problem... i read the DIY, and i dont consider myself thaaat noob, but how the heck do you get the door cards off...... i took out the plastic fastner on the door, removed screw from small pocked on arm rest, and bolt behind handle, i couldnt find any else and im real confused, tried pulling but didnt work at all :/

if you have manual windows there's a small metal clip which you need to remove which holds the window winder on to the shaft, then use a flat bladed screwdriver and work your way around the door card un-poping the clips.

i had a similar problem turns out the slave cylinder was shot, about $20 from jaycar

ahhh... i totally forgot about the window winder :p dammit - dont worry, im upgrading to power if it aint too expensive. ive seen kits for less than 150 delivered but dont have a clue how hard they are to install

there really easy to install, ones ive been looking at use the existing winder shaft and the rest is wiring between the doors

Power windows are extremely easy to instal, provided you have patience and a keen eye. I got mine for 150 deliverd, dealer price. Installed the next day with barely any problems. Just have to get used to a tacky cover over the old window winder. The ce lancer winder gear does stick out quite far, so you usually need the largest cap to cover it.

Slightly more on topic, I was looking to try and convert my doors to remote locking, but I couldn't work out how the f*** to get the door actuator out -.-

Reasons not to do this.
A) risk burning the car down? No.
B) risk stuffing the winder mech? No
C) could I be buggered? Not really.

Angle grinder would send sparks through the car, and if you stuff the winder mech, (which the power kit uses) your day is gonna get chitty fast. Especially considering it'll mean you'll most likely need an entire window reg assembly (ebay being my only source of them), which means more time, money and work involved in what should have been a 2-4 hour job. If you don't like the cover look, buy the window reg, wiring, door cards and switches off an mr.

Could you make a thread on the power window conversion, ive been interested in it, but dont have the time to figure out what parts i need and from where.
