A quick DIY on how to replace the speakers in your dash. You DO NOT need to disconnect your battery for this or pull out your fascia.

What you will need:

1 x Philips screw driver
2 x 4" speakers
4 x Male/female electric wire connectors OR solder and soldering iron
1 x Pliers if using male/female connectors

Passenger Side

Step One: Starting with the passenger side, there are two screws at the bottom of the plastic cover that hides your speaker. Remove them both and the cover will fall off, revealing your speaker.

Step Two: The speaker will be held in by two screws, undo them both. If your speakers are stock, they will be held in by a black clip which can be unplugged or just cut the wires. Throw that piece of crap speaker away.

Step Three: For those using male/female clips, strip back the white wire (positive) about 1cm and put a connector on it. Clamp the connector down with the pliers. Strip back the positive wire on your speaker and put the opposite connector on it, clamp it with the pliers. Connect the male/female connectors for the positive wires, then repeat this step for the negative wire. For those soldering, you should already know what to do.

Step Four: Screw your speaker into the dash and reassemble the plastic cover.

Driver's Side

Step One: There are 5 screws in total. One just to the left of the steering wheel, the second is straight under the first down at the bottom of the dash. The 3rd and 4th are side by side at the bottom right of the dash (close to the door) and the 5th is inside the pull-out pocket to the right of the steering wheel (you will need to gently push in the sides of the pocket to let it down in order to easily access this last screw). The top right of the dash piece you just unscrewed is held in by clips, no screws up there.

Step Two: Unscrew the old speaker and either unclip or cut the wires coming from it.

Step Three: Repeat step 3 from the passengers side, strip each wire and put positive (white) to positive and negative to negative. Apply the clips and clamp them, then clip them together and screw your new speaker into the dash.

Step Four: Screw the shell back onto the dash via the 5 screws from earlier

Step Five: Test your speakers by adjusting your head unit's balance from left to right to make sure both are working. Enjoy.
