DIY - Changing Dash/Cluster Bulbs

What you need:
Assortment of T10 and T5 bulbs (pending your cluster type). 10 of each is more than enough. The magic number is 6.
T5 lock sockets (again pending cluster type)
Screwdriver

Cluster Bulbs:
There are two screws holding the cluster surround in at the top (look up under the cluster area). Remove those and yank out the surround. Then 3 screws holding the cluster in, one at each side and one at the bottom. Remove those and wiggle your cluster out. It will be held in by 2 large plugs. Unplug those and pull the cluster out.

Pending cluster type, you will either have T5/T10 bulbs that you can replace directly with LEDs, or you'll have the annoying little bulbs reminiscent of a T4.7 which are bulb and fitting connected. You cannot replace just the bulb in these because they are physically attached and do not twist or pull apart - you will break them if you try. This is where you need a combo of T5 sockets and T5 bulbs. Pop the bulbs in the sockets and replace them. These are polarised, so plug you dash back in and check they light up before reinstalling everything. If they don't light up, either the socket is around the wrong way so replace it backwards, or the bulb is around the wrong way, so replace that backwards.

When they all light up, replace everything in reverse - done.

Shifter Lights:
If you have an auto, your shifter will light up when the headlights/parkers are turned on. There is one single bulb to replace to make this light up, it's a T10. There are also two T5 bulbs in this area - one for the ash tray and one for the cig lighter. Now is a good time to do both of those.

To access these bulbs, remove the centre console by unscrewing two screws in the bas of the console (in the cubby hole). Then the console lifts up and away from the shifter. The shifter is held in by two screws where the centre console attaches, and an annoying as *fudge* grommet near the driver footwell. Feel free to break this and just replace the grommet, it's a giant *Richard Cranium* of a thing.

Now you can lift the shifter surround out. There are some plugs attached to this, unplug those. You will see the two T5 at the ash tray/cig lighter. Replace those directly with a loose T5 bulb. Under the shifter is the T10 bulb, this can be unscrewed and then replaced. If using LEDs, again they are probably polarised, so plug the plugs back in and turn on the headlights to check if they are working. When they're all working, reverse install to put everything back together.

A/C Lights:
*Richard* of a job to work out. You need to pull the knobs off the a/c controls to reveal some screws - literally pull out each of the 3 dials. Remove the screws under the dials to pull the faceplate off. This reveals a clear plastic plate no top of the a/c module. Remove the 3 or so screws on this to get access to the t5 bulbs. And remove the two tiny screws holding the middle 3 a/c controls in to get access to the last T5. These can be directly replaced with a T5 bulb by push/pull, no twisting needed. Again, turn lights on and check polarity if not working. Reinstall in reverse.

Your dash should have each of the areas now actually lit up nice and bright. See pics attached for reference of when everything is actually lit up.
