Custom Boot Help.

hey guys.
i have been thinking about doing a custom boot for my Lancer.
but am having a few troubles of the materials i should use.

thoughts on fibreglass?

the paint it or carpet?

all suggestions welcome :)

it all comes down to what your gonna make it look like, iv seen some really good installs using just MDF, but then again iv seen really good installs using f/glass too

always a good idea is do up a mock with card board ans stuff so you can measure to see if you will have enough supplies/room
 
MDf if you want the easy root and just carpet or vinyl it.

FB looks better IMO But is a lot more work but allows you to make any shap you want.
 
with a MDF boot install what do you put under the vinil to give it some cuhioning or do you just put the vinil straight on the MDF. i think that would look tacky
 
you could use some upholsterers foam*, between the mdf and vynil, they use it in leather trimmed seat covers and other stuff they wanna be slightly squishy

*upholsterers foam is about 1cm thick very squishy foam that comes in rolls from what i gather

is that tacky?? the carpet is tacky but the covering isnt, depends on qulity of the vinyl too. if you just use cheap bunnngs stuff itll look aids but if you use good vinyl it will look far better

so that doesnt have anything underneath it. that i a really good job.

i was just wondering. and thinking what i was picturing in my mind
