Cluster rpm not working since conversion 4g15 to 4g93

Hey guys I know it's been done to death but I'm having an issue an cant solve it... I recently put a 4g93 in my mirage replaced the engine, engine wiring loom, ecu, module and key, i have earthed it properly but I am not getting a signal from the ecu or the blue pin in the engine bay I have even tried a aftermarket tacho but still nothing, I am thinking the wiring from the conversion has stuffed something up but can't figure it out everything plugged in perfect not a single plug left over, if anyone has had the same conversion and the same issue and u have solved it any help would be much appreciated thanks

No I didn't change it but what is exactly different mine doesn't have power windows and mirrors, should be maybe just a wire in the engine wiring not getting power cause its not the dash it's the ecu not giving a signal

time for one of them 5'' tachos that change different colors & give you at least 10% gain in killerwasps.....be sure too set the shift light as low as possible so it goes off all the time & people think your balla ;)

but srsly mine come with one of these^ swapped it for a autometer one asap & sadly never got around too a tacho cluster

i agree with the dash loom, swap that over and it should work. Or u should be able to run a wire from pin 31 from the ecu and use a ring terminal and fix that to the back of the cluster where it says "tacho E" just unscrew that screw and put the ring terminal over it.

The ecu is not giving a output on pin 58 and the blue plug in the engine bay, tried a aftermarket tacho as well still nothing, please read my problem b4 answering, the ecu is giving out nothing that's why it's not working I have wired it up properly at the back of the cluster it was working with my 4g15 motor

This is the same problem i had with my 99 mirage but it still had the 1.5 in it my pin 58 & 31 had nothing but i would think 58 should work on a 1.8 ecu . one thing Henry told me which was worth checking was pull your cluster out and make sure the connector in the dash isn't already pinned up for the macho connection as it may screw up the signal and he advised to de pin the connector and wire it up accordingly . but this problem had me stuffed to and i did read on others sites about ppl with the same unresolved problem.
My solution was sell my mirage and buy an MR lol.

Lol I just basically turned my rage into a MR has everything a MR has except can't get the tacho working after I solve that issue I can start my performance upgrades, u should of kept it I would of found u a 4g93 conversion and i could of done it at my shop way cheaper than 1500

Just checking, when you guys say that PIN 58 isn't giving a signal, are you just going off the test light or actually plugging a standard pin into the ecu and wiring it up properly? When I was first setting mine up I couldn't get a signal with the test light. But when I used a proper pin in the ecu, wired it accordingly and earthed the tacho wire on the back of the cluster correctly it worked without a drama.

Pin 58 on my ecu is a white wire I tested it with a aftermarket gauge good didn't work with the cluster didn't wrk either might try a multimeter an see what happens

I tried all of the above and had nothing i tried the cluster in a friends 97 mirage which was wired to pin 58 and worked perfectly.

You'll need an LED test light to pick up the signal. A filement globe wont light up from the pulse. Its too fast.

I can fix this since you know ive wired up 4g93 engine swaps in many ways and all have tacho working with 4g15 dash interior loom.
All this internet and phone/txt diagnosis has reached a point where i would need to spend time to resolve it.

Get it round for Henry to sort out that's what i was going to do before i sold my car because it was doing my head in also.

hmm I have a similar problem sort of... I have a 4G15 with the 4g15 wire loom and a MR white dash and my tacho is jumping up and down.. not doing my head in just yet as I will be swapping the engine out soon I think, but it almost sounds like you may not be getting a good earth from the loom to the gauge?
