So my car is shuddering under load while driving between 80kph-110kph...

It's a 1.8l manual sedan, ive had the front & rear engine mounts replaced as the previous ones were snapped clean..

My first thoughts were a Wheel Alignment & Balance? I cant think of anything else as to why it's shuddering..

Any help appreciated, cheers

thats a hard one to narrow down.
there are lots of different types of shuddering

is it losing power, does the engine feel liek its pulsing in a rythm, does it feel choked, does it feel like the engine is moving.
or does it feel like something unbalanced at the wheel end of things?

Yeah feels like it's within the wheels but wasnt 100% certain.. It doesnt lose power, i can accelerate no problems but as i do it shudders bad... But while coasting it's unoticable.. It's only bad when i accelerate..

Cv's? My immediate thoughts were wheel balance and alignment..

get a wheel balance and alignment if the steering wheel shudders aswell

This could be due to several things:
Unbalanced/warped wheels.
Wheels out of alignment.
Unevenly worn tyres.
Unequal tyre pressures.
Worn suspension bushings.
Loose wheel nuts.
Loose wheel hub.
Binding brakes (feels worse at high-speed rotation).
Worn CV joints..

Good luck.

I had same problem after rotation of wheels. Fixed by a rebalance and allignment. And I had the same problem as mentioned above. Your best option is to goto a wheel/susp place

thanks heaps peeps, i'll check everything you's have posted this week and get back to this topic. It's only when im accelerating to maintain speed or overtake... coasting is fine....something to do while it's under load...

thanks heaps cheers!

If it's fine when coasting, wouldn't it be an engine problem?...
I'm noob at this, but if it's shuddering ONLY when you put your boot down, I'd be checking the engine... Starting with basic stuff like blocked intake, plugs, leads, etc.

well apon a random check of the front tyres this arv while at maroubra beach, i noticed that the front left tyre has a huge gash in the tread.. it's a fair slice and is slighty buldging so i've organised a set of 18's with tyres to replace the set i have now... i feel lucky that i checked because that could of been dangerous on the motorway...

it may be part of the shuddering problem..or the reason itself
