CE Lancer Trunk Torsion Rod install?

Any ideas on how? I've watched all the videos on youtube on how to do it on other cars, but this trunk's torsion rod is just too taught and I can't use my hands.

You’re trying to replace it I assume? Are you in the removal or refit stage? you might find a guide if you search evo4-6 or even evo7-9 as they use a similar setup. The evos are more “popular” online so you may have success with that

General tips for this sort of thing I have learned is that two people can be helpful rather than just yourself.

Try installing with the boot open and closed, one may be easier than the other

There might be multiple installation points for adjusting the strength of the rod, try get it into any of them and then adjusting to the desired one.

I’m just replacing the rod that was already in there but it was removed due to the spoiler that was installed and was just left unhooked since.

I’ve seen the evo ones but the only video i’ve seen is of the person removing them

Ive tried installing it back on with both the boot closed and open and yet to no success. It was attempted with my and my friends father and we still were unsuccessful.

There are only 2 points of installation with the CE Lancer and that is one point specific to a spoiler and the other without. I cannot get it into either as the torsion is too strong.

I found a tool online the costs $60 which is too expensive for me so I was just wondering if there is a cheaper tool that helps do the job.

might be worth noting most of the world calls it a trunk.

ie: searching trunk spring / trunk torsion bar / trunk torsion spring etc might find more results.
