Ce Lancer driving lights

Hey all,

I have a 99 CE lancer and was wondering where you get the driving lights that fit into the spot in the front bumper? And what is your opinion, look better or worse with them? Just looking for more light, have replaced the headlights with 100% bulbs and that made a good difference.
Do you guys have problem with not enough light?

Cheers

You mean the fog lights? Most people want them. They are hard to find, but if you can get them then do so.
If your car has the wiring already there for them (look for 2 empty plugs behind the fog lights holes and see if a fuse is already there in the fuse box) you'll just need the lights and the switch.

I got myself a set of light like below a few weeks ago(even got the outer shrouds), just need the bumper for it now.

But I was curious about the wiring, if there was anything pre-existing that makes it a plug n play affair or a whole new wiring harness job.

Its usually already there in my old mirage a i presume coupe too when you took the cluster surround out or looked under the dash its all sitting right there ( along with the electronic mirrors) and also the plugs on mine where at the front tapped to the loom
also as mentioned before check fuse box to see if the fuse fitting is all there in the fog light spot. and if all that's there it plug and play and your good to go.

Yeah fog Lights sorry, Thanks mate, I will have a look. I found a place that sells them, but they aren't cheap http://www.aftermarketautoshop.com/cars ... ights-kit/

Cheers
They don't look right to me, check your car and all you may need is switch, foggies and surrounds and then just keep an eye out for a set it'll be worth it and i doubt you'll wait long anyways, i think a set went on here the other day for like 100 which i thought was cheap I've seen em go for more.

No it has nothing unfortunately :( Just an the position for them filled with the plastic covering. There is no fuse in the fuse spot either.

Is the fuse holder there i mean the place to actually put a fuse? Check the ebay thread i just put a link to Mr parts there and there some foggies there the guys in vic though.

Oh yeah there is the socket for the fuse. Sorry I am complete noob, how do you actually go about wiring it all up? Is it simple? Like how from the foggies to the fuse box etc.

I'm pretty sure the wiring will be there. Look harder. It will prob be taped up so it doesn't get wet or damaged.

Down where the foggies should be behind the front bar there should be a plug for them one on each side some times there just sitting there I've found them taped up but they shouldn't be to hard to find cause there ain't much else down there. also they blank where the switch should be on your dash gets removed and the plug should be right be hind it.
So if all that's there its a matter of plugging in foggies, plugging in interior switch and then a fuse and your away.I'm presuming you have a coupe. you should start a ride thread.

I did extensive research and testing for the foglights to fit up.
the wiring is complete from the switch to the (non-existant) relay inside, as well as the wiring from the foglights to the fusebox. You need to wire up from teh fusebox to the interior loom.

Its 1000x easier to make your own loom with spare plugs. Check local wreckers for the plugs. I think my foglight connections are from Excels, whereas the switch connection is a re-pinned Excel switch connector too i think

That's interesting you say that lil cause on the coupe i used to have was plug and play it was a 2001 gli i know it can vairy from car to car though. always worth checking your own vehicle for what's what. good advice for the op though something to look out for to save headaches.

Depends what loom your car has. Some cars may not have the wiring already run for them and some may. In my car the fuse is already there, as mmc said the plug was just plugged into the blank so i just got a switch and plugged it into that, and the plugs down behind the foggies were already there and tapped up.

yeah my lancer came with one round fog light because the other one apparently broke and when i went to a mitsubishi dealer to get just the one fog light, they said it would cost $488.25. for one! i've been looking into some cheaper universal led round ones on ebay though, just don't want them to be a tiny bit to big and not fit the hole properly.

I hope your right MMC, I will have another look tonight properly, but I really couldn't see anything overly substantial under there, just the plastic fills. But I could be wrong.
And yes I will start a ride thread soon, Pretty stock ride except for 17's and a HU

For my car i am because i did it , yours may be different that's why you have to check or if your not sure get someone who is if you ask nicely you might get someone off here from your area who can help you.
