Mitsubishi Lancer CC 1995 coupe GL
Hi,
Just wondering if there is someone in Perth, WA who could convert the old crank style to electric power window and also add central locking using existing keys to open & lock the doors?
Otherwise, if there's someone you could recommend.
Unfortunately, I'm not mechanically inclined.
I saw an old thread here but it is beyond me.

My previous car was a Honda Concerto 1990 which has full electric everything so the old crank style really annoys me.
Was told by an auto electrician its not worth it as price for CC is only $2000 max. according to Redbook but it holds sentimental value as it used to belong to my mum.
If anyone can help or point me to the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks heaps,
klena

What you need:

From a Proton M21/Satria/Satria GTi/Jumbuck
Door cards
Window regulators
Wiring looms
Power window switches

Then you follow the guide you linked. Even if you just got all the parts and put them in the car yourself, you could get an auto elec to wire it up for you for probably $100-150. It's also a good time (if you don't have them already) to install power mirrors as the loom for the windows will have the power mirror plugs etc on it too. Th door cards will also have speaker covers on them (Protons had speakers in their doors) and if you plan on using door speakers, get the piece of plastic inside the door itself where the speaker bolts into.

The same thing goes with a locking kit, easiest to let an auto elec do it if you can't do it yourself, but self-assembling kits are quite easy to do. If you are talking about central locking as in unlocking one door also unlocks the other, that's a factory option you can steal off a wreck. If you;re talking about remote locking then you may have to deal with your immobiliser, which can interfere or even disable your remote locking altogether. I ripped out my immobiliser and remote locking because it was annoying, I only have central locking now. I don't miss it at all.

Also worth mentioning that you should only weigh up the cost of a modification to your car if you plan on selling it. If you don't plan on selling it, you aren't losing money, so who gives a *fudge* what the car "is worth". Something like power windows would just be another selling feature of the car anyway.

Hi rigby,
What year Proton M21/Satria/ Satria gti/Jumbuck is compatible with Lancer CC?
Also, yes I was thinking about the factory option central locking. What model is compatible?
I can try to source the parts but the whole process is beyond me. Can a mechanic do this? Is there anyone you can recommend in Perth?

All M21, all Jumbucks, and all Satria GTi. I think the GTi was from 98-05,the M21 was like 96-01 and the Jumbuck was 02-10 from memory.

Factory central locking can be taken from any CC GLXi coupe. Don't think the GL had it and I'm unsure if the sedan mechanics will work since the doors are different shapes and I don't actually know what the central locking mechanism looks like in them but if so then executive and GLXi sedans, GSRs and Evo 1-3 would work.

A mechanic may be able to do the central locking but not the power windows. Need an auto elec for that.

No idea about Perth as I live in QLD.

Just rang around wreckers here in Perth and they don't have CC Lancer or any of the Proton parts.
Is after market like Rapid Electronics 2 doors electric power windows conversion kit any good?

Not sure about aftermarket kits but usually they keep your manual regs and add a motor to them, then wire the motor to a switch which you either place in the centre console or the doors. All it does it make a motor turn your manual winders for you, doesn't actually replace them.

Thank you rigby for all your help. It is much appreciated.
Looks like I may have to go the after market route as I can't get hold of any of the parts.
Thanks again,
klena

No worries. If you are keen to get prices etc for a whole Proton setup, try finding a page on Facebook called AusProton and asking there, they also have a buy/sell Facebook page. Someone there usually has an entire setup ready to sell.

the ones you are looking for are satria XLI XLS or gti proton M21. the mech is actually quite simple i figure out the wiring myself in about 30 minute on my garage floor with a batery the bare minimum is 4 wires.

as for central locking i'd just go with an aftermarket imobilizer that has a locking feature built in. my mongoose one has provision for the key to integrated into the remote looks fancy.
