Question related to the box, shifting feels notchy and when warmed up my gear stick actually sounds it hits my console which makes a thud and is annoying as. Would a new gear shift cable eliminate both the notchyness and hitting the console? Mitsi wants 400 for a new one but not sure if it will be worth it.

Depending how much you've done/undone or plan to do you might be better off looking for a GSR or early EVO and work on fixing that up.
Especially is you're not allowed to mod cars performance in SA, which sounds weird to me.

I'm on my fulls now so that doesn't matter but i think i will save for a gsr and fix my lancer up intil i do

as a p plater in s/a he's alowed no performance mods however i find it hard to beleive you can't have anything on the car like and exhaust ( a simple muffler swap can make it "sound" like ot's been performance enhanced while still being completly stock and the same power as the orginial)

and it's been proven many times that pods do jack all for performance

Yeah pods don't do anything but its classed as a 'performance upgrade' and cops wont care, they'll get you for it. We rang up about the exhaust and we had to change it, i think it was bigger pipe from the cat to the tip so maybe thats what it was.

No they can't tell you to change the exhaust on the car, if it was there before the laws came in then they can do anything

I coulda got away with it though, on my p1and p2 i got pulled over 3 times. Ahwell its all done now aha.

Apart from making it louder and a tiny bit of performance I didn't see how the exhaust is a problem for Ps.

You might need to concentrate on making the Lancer look better until you can legally do the other mods.
