Gday guys.
Ive hit a wall and need your help.

2003 CH lancer 4G94 2L Auto

Ran fine yesterday, parked up overnight, wouldnt start today.
Cranks, and runs for a bit if i spray carb cleaner down the intake, so spark/timing seem fine.
Im getting fuel to the rail, but cant seem to hear the injectors clicking. No fuel going down the return line.

Pretty sure the fuses are all good, havent tested the big black ones (relays?) also in the fuse box.

Had front strut brace installed, and it squashed one of the vacuum nipples a bit, but not enough to block/break it (can easily blow through it into throttle body).

Hopefully you guys have a few ideas to try before i start throwing money at it haha

Thanks for reading (y)

Just an idea but maybe try taking the fuel rail bolts out, and cover the injectors with a container or something and see if they are spraying correctly if at all

Okay so you have crank but no start. Ran fine until it decided not to start?

Based on the fact it runs on an external fuel source, you have a fuel issue. Could be supply OR control.

Step one, check you got fuel in the tank lol.

Fuel pump is powered only once a crank angle sensor signal is sent to the ecu. If you have spark, you have a crank angle signal.

To check the fuel pump; lift up the back seat and try listen/feel for the pump running. You will need a helper to crank the engine while you test.

If you can’t hear/feel anything check you have power at the fuel pump by unplugging it and putting a multimeter or test light across the two pins in the plug.

If the pump is good, now you need to check the injectors are firing. These are disabled by the immobiliser. Chuck the test light or multimeter across the pins of any injector connector and have someone crank it.

Good luck, let us know how you go!

SOLVED/FIXED

Installed a Ryco fuel filter assembly ~3000km ago,
Turned out to be a dodgy retention clip on the pressure release circuit, which eventually popped off.
I was getting fuel, but not enough volume/pressure to inject.

Thanks @Radical_Ralliart and @SDate42 for weighing in, gave me motivation to keep having a crack (y)
Nice work, i worry that somethings not on properly whenever i do those in-tank fuel filters all the time
