Air box clips

Hey dont know if anyone asked this but if you take the clips off the air box it makes it bit louder kinda like if you had an intake, just wondering if this is bad for your engine and can damage anything ?

the clips on my air box fell off once, but the box stayed together untill i was able to get replacement clips, im not too sure why you would want this though...
if you mean that if you remove the front section of the airbox and just have it running filter>half box>pipe>throttle body, then i see this as not a very smart move...
if your attempting to make a CAI, your better off doing it correct the first time to save time, money etc..

all you will make is induction noise.. no power gain, plus you're breathing in hotter air...

Do what Ces mentions above... CAI = Win.

Yeah I know that. It's just that one of the clips broke off ages ago, was wondering if that mattered

well it does hold the filter in and press the rubber seal so its airtight, removing the clips the filter will fall out/not be airtight and dust etc can get past it into the engine

Do a Cai its real easy on a CE and you will get more noise and performance. Plus its cheap.

And illegal if not fully enclosed!
