4g92 vs 4g93

Apparently a 4g92 dohc has 108kw and a 4g93 dohc has 103kw. How does this work? Which motor is better in terms of power, mods and on fuel???
 
The difference is that the g93 has more torque overall, and faster access to both it's power and torque over the g92. The g92's power and torque are peaking at 7k rpm as opposed to 5.5-6k rpm in the g93. Of course the g92 will rev out for longer but the g93 also has around 8k rpm to play with, and make more power more consistently as a daily driver (won't have to flog it all the time to get all of it's power out). It also has 200cc of displacement over the g92. For power... g92 NA over g93 NA, g93t over g92t. Same with mods really. For optimal results you would put the g92 head on a g93 block to have 1.8L mivec and the best of both worlds. Fuel-wise, who gives a flying fark.
 
They both have advantages. I would choose g93 for slightly less power but more torque. But defs wouldn't say no to a g92. Again, would put g92 head on g93 block for maximum power
 
So it's a 4g92 sohc? Piss it off and get a g93 DOHC. If it's not already mivec, it's rubbish.
 
I think you'll need to put up some pics of what engine you have and what generation car your planning on putting it in. There were differences in the variants of the two engines available for the CE, CG, CH and the CC and previous.
 
Oh ok i think the CB had the 4G92 'cyclone' which was a non-mivec dohc from memory. The 93 block would make decent gains over the 92 block though be aware there are quite possibly small differences between the two engines which would make a head swap a little more complex. You would have to talk to people who have done it to find out the details or just deal with the as they occur.

they look identical to the 4G63 2ltre engine

sorry rigbo incorrect piston different rods the same. the difference in the pistons is in the top dish flat or dome for different compression ratios
