Hi all. Newbie here.
I have a 1998 lancer sedan glxi 1.8 auto. The brake lights do not work at all. Checked the globes and a fuses. Other lights working fine. The lights do illuminate when front lights turned on but only with one element in two of the three globes, the centre light not illuminating which is correct. This leads me to believe the stop light switch is faulty. The questions I have are:
1. How do I remove the switch? Do I unplug the connector and I tighten the bolt?
2. What is the part number for the triton equivalent switch?
3. Is there a quick fix in the meantime? After inspection I can see that there is contact when lever is not depressed and separation when it is pressed.
Thank you all in advance :)

Unclip the connection and undo the nut and it just slides out. Get another one from the wreckers for a couple of bucks .
Plug it in and bus push it with your finger and check if it works and if it does screw it back in and your done.
I don't understand your second question re the triton , and prob best to not go to Mitsubishi because they prob charge 50 for something you can pick up for a few dollars at the wreckers.
There's not really a quick fix you could wire it to a switch technically but really who would when just changing the switch is a 5 minute job.
