Rear brakes???

Hey guys
I’m thinking of doing a drum to disc conversion but don’t know what I need for the conversion

There’s a few different ways to go about it. Keeping 4x100, converting just rears to 4x114.3 or 5x114.3, or a complete front + rear conversion to 4x114.3 or 5x114.3

The option you pick will be a result of why youre doing the brake upgrade in the first place. As a minimum for rears, you will need the complete trailing arm assembly with the hub/brakes, the bushes attatched and hand brake cables

I’m keeping the 4x100 and I’m not to sure what proton I can use for the rear disc conversion

Proton GTi
Proton Wira

Get the whole complete arm, disc, caliper and handbrake cable.

You can also use M21 gear, probably Persona as well. Not Jumbuck. Handbrake cables need to be from a M21 or GTi if you have a coupe, or Persona/Wira/GSR etc if you have a sedan. You can use sedan cables on a coupe but not coupe cables on a sedan.

The assembly itself will be bolt-on, no modification necessary. Just a bit finnicky and a *Richard*-around. If you haven't done anything like this before, set aside most of the day.

the 1.6L satria has the rear discs too (might be easier to find than a gti), but the smaller engines all have drum rears

stay away from gen 2 satria’s, they’re completely different, it’s only the gen 1 protons that are compatible. check wikipedia for model years
