Proton satria 1.5 and 1.8 drive shaft

Hi guys

Does anyone know the difference/any between the 1.5L and 1.8L proton satria drive shaft.

I have a 1.5L proton with 1.8 cc gsr lancer turbo, I used the 1.5L gearbox (with a bit messing around) with the original shaft seems fine but since I change to the proton gti 1.8L gear box it make little noise everytime I do left turn, the sound is like I run over little little reflector on the road put close together, I change another gearbox and it does the same, now the second one on the way out.


I am not sure what to do next, any input will be appreciated.

It's not a split boot or anything? The sound you described sounds like a *fudge*ed boot. Driveshafts should be the same from 1.5 to 1.8

Why not just call Proton and get it straight from them? As far as Aus delivered Protons we didn't get 1.3L and only got a 1.5 and 1.8 Satria, and then one variant of every other Proton model. So 1.6 Wira, 1.6 Persona, 1.8 M21 and 1.5 Jumbuck

I rang proton, I think they are mainly selling parts, not interested in modification or inter change info between diff model, quite flat conversation.

Took my gli RHS shaft off went to wrecker u pull it, took out the proton Gti shaft from there and compare, I measured and count all the grove teeths both shaft end, both are 25, the outer grove teeth length is the same but the inner grove teeth length that goes into the gearbox is a little longer on the proton Gti RHS shaft compare to Satria gli RHS shaft, also the Gti shaft has abs and little beefier but doesn't affect intalation, bought and fitted to my Satria gli with cc Gsr lancer turbo 4g93t engine with proton Gti gearbox and the noise disappeared.
