What's wrong with my car?

When i turn off my car the fans inside my car turn on and stay on for about 10seconds.
It has also done this before i turn my car on as well.
They never used to do this. Started doing this a couple of weeks ago.

Temperature is fine, oil is fine, water, radiator all fine.

Called mechanic and auto electrician but they don't know why it's doing this and they cant come out and have a look at it anytime soon.

So just wondering if anyone knows why its doing this?

which fans the radiator fans or air cond fans - if it is the radiator fans then this is normal, if it is the air cond ones I have no idea as to why they would automaticlly come on

ive had heaps of cars do it. isnt it just cooling down? never had any issues :/

Yeah its just the car cooling itself down after use. It won't always do it, just when the engine is at a certain temp. So you'll probably also notice it won't happen as much in winter and in Cole weather.

I've had the car nearly 3yrs and it's never done it before.
Mechanic said to check the fuses or relay or something..

My wife calais used to do this when we first got it 5 years ago but i haven't heard it do it for prob for 3 years but id have no idea why. the cars always run perfect so I've never worried about it. have you noticed your temp gauge is a little higher or any difference there?

My CH 2.4lt, first thing when I turn key on but not start the engine the fan will kick in and when car is turned off after running it will still run or kick on... but it is only for like 15 seconds.

I say it is nothingg to worry about

My CG used to do it quite regularly. Not every time but often enough to know it was normal. I also had it from new and owned it for 5 years.

My car I used to drive, an astra did it too. On a super hot day driving home from uni after turning the car off, the fan (yes it only has one, european car...) would stay on for about 2-3 minutes. and even about 15 minutes later the car won't let you start it because it's still too hot.

but if it was normal the mechanic and electrician would of told me it was normal and not to worry about it.. so there has to be something wrong somewhere.. i just dont kno where.

mechanics and electrician want to make some money lol

stacey not wanting to sound sexist but you are a female and the general idea is to tell you what is going to earn them money - if you are really that concerned take the car to Mitsubishi, (but they will also take your money) or you can go to one of these mechanic/auto electrician and ask them to give you a guarentee that once you have paid them they will continue to fix the problem..Another way to tell if it is a serious problem or not is if the CEL comes on if that light comes on and stays on then you have a problem.

fan controller unit.
can't remember the real name.
it is a field fix we had to do when i was working at mitsubishi.
you will have to go to a dealer.
do it your self if you can get the part its two bolts and one plug.
but honestly as far as i know it wont harm anything if you ignore it.

but i can't remember if this was only for the 2.4 or for both engines.

outher wise listen to chowetime he couldn't be more correct.
