hey does anyone have or know where i can get a manifold and 2 barrel webber for a 1994 mitsubishi lancer CC,
the standard carbi on the lancer(has auto-choke) is causing it to chew too much fuel, the auto-choke isnt working(ive thoroughly checked it) and ive asked a few mechanics and they said to get a new carbi
ive figured if im gonna do that, i might aswell upgrade it since im planning on keeping the car.

go to wreckers if ur after an OEM replacement

otherwise, google will be your friend, maybe rpw sells something

not alot of us on here have carbie engines, why not upgrade to a CC 1.8L that is EFI, they are cheap engines

carbi's push further, and to put a 1.8 EFI into my car, it means adding a computer which involves too much wiring for my liking, and id rather keep the engine set up as simple as possible for easy upgrades :3
i looked at rpw, they want $818 for a webber kit, ive looked at other places n they want around $200 for an OEM replacement

You will be after the webber carb that is on the Cortina I think it was from memory (what ever that one is under the falcon of that era).

They ran a double throat webber with a mechanical secondary - VERY simple carb.
Redline should make an adapter plate that you bolt on to your manifold and then bolt the new carb to that. They come with longer studs to put it all together.
-Not 100% if they make an adapter to suit your application, if not, it's just a piece of alloy to cut out.

That being said... If you are concerned about fuel economy, I'd be sticking with the factory carb.
Would rebuilding it be an option?

rebuilding it is a option but i dont really have the time to stuff-arse around with that kinda work at the moment, i just want the car back on the road n registered fuel economy isnt gonna matter as long as i dont put my foot down too much, the Weber isnt factory for cortina's is it? i dnt think it is
also ill look into redline :)
i dont really want to put the factory carb back on it due to depriving more power and take off.

and ill ring around to see what kind of price ranges im looking at, i have found one at RPW but i think they want a bit too much for it, if i can get a second hand one then that will be great :)

lol sweet, now i jus gotta find sum1 that will do a adapter plate,
ive rang 5 different wreckers and none of them have one
ive rang up a few intake manifold companies n they dont do them >.<
any ideas?

Yeah that one would probably do the job, may find it a bit large for an other wise standard 1.5lt. but it would "work".

the 34adm would be too big for the 1.5 in standard trim.

As for the adapter. Just make one. It's just a piece of 10mm ~ 20mm alloy with a couple holes in it.
Other things to keep in mind with the webber, throttle linkage will need to be modified to fit, air cleaner will need to be modified to suit. etc.
-It will not be a bolt in fit, there will be some mucking around.

Side draughts? lol not a good idea if your wanting to keep it legal. Other wise go for it

Worked at redline Performance around 2 years ago Sydbey Milperra
Picking orders manifolds pods ,adapters ,gilmer belts ,rocker covers Linkage Kits ,Braided hose , Speedflow fittings ,Holley and weber carbs are all usually in stock Brand new or recon

That would be the 32/36 DGV Weber, highly recommended. I've done a few swaps of these carbies on to other engines when the carbs were more readily available. You used to be able to buy them off the shelf at Supercheap.

Sometimes the advance curve needed to be reworked to suit the airflow.

:

34 ADM as used on the 250 XF Falcons? Yes, too big. I had one on my worked 202.

I used to make adaptors out of plastic cutting boards for experimental carbies.
If I decided to keep the configuration I would make one out of aluminium plate.
