want to go faster

thats probably cos he has a bucket load of chassis bracing so he can maintain speed thru the twisties

Hey, for a 2.0 CVT, that's quick! She is a heavy old duck!

And +1 Res, that's why I push suspension mods for CVTs.... no point trying to up the motor, the trans just wont take much more....

Stolen quote from a US-based Lancer community, which seems to be well in step with what I have been espousing since buying this car at auction.. noting it's a CVT.

for all cvt owners i would suggest scraping the idea of getting fast and work on getting quick.
Yes there is a diffrence. fast is speed quick is nimble. Any car can go fast in a straight line with the right amount of money. But you cant make every car handle like its on rails. We have a good platform for autocross. More fun then drag and more respect from racers. you can take a 14k car add 3grand worth of suspension parts and make it handle like a race car. Doesnt matter if its quick on the straight cause you'll get em in the turn when they slow down to let there high horsepower none turning camaro make it threw.
little mini coopers own the autocross courses. Not the s type just plan old mini coopers. They handle like gods. Not even the sports cars are catching their times.

just something to think about before you get all depressed because your car cant go 300mph.
Do some bolt ons and work on making the car rigid and handle

suspension and braking are the most fundemental mods IMO, no point in being able to go at blistering speeds if u cant stop even faster or hold traction round a corner

well... I agree, but some people want to 'live their lives a quarter mile at a time'.....

I like to think riding the back of a $60,000 V8 Clubsnot through the twisties in a car worth a third is somewhat satisfying...
