Stripped CH weight?

I’m musing over possible candidates for a simple khana/track day car.

A 4G69 CH ticks a LOT of boxes - mainly they are cheap, make ok power, are cheap, have a few options for suspension & brakes, are cheap, parts & panels are readily available etc (and did I mention they are cheap?).

The big negative is the 1200+ kilo weight...

Just wondering if anyone has stripped one out (ie. seats, carpets, sound deadening, a/c) and what sort of weight you managed to get it down to?

Gonna be honest, the rear seats weigh like 5kg. Plastic trims from everywhere but upper dash maybe another 5-10

Unless you full on stripped it, sound deadening and all, you'd get better power:weight out of it by having 1/4 tank of fuel in it, losing weight yourself, and taking a *poo* before you drive it

Yep I’m talking a full strip - seats, carpets, airbags, aircon, central locking, sound deadening etc.

I reckon at least 100 kgs would come out of it, but would love to hear from anyone that has a verified number.

EVO THREAD

I honestly don't think there is 100kgs in the interior. Spare tyre and tools will hold some weight, the rear seats are barely anything and there's no real heavy daggy items anywhere.

If you include front seats, removing the internals of the dash (heatercore and evap) maybe you'd collect 100kgs. Maybe...

Look at plexi glass for the windows. Something to be saved there
