Stretched Tyres

I'm in no hurry atm, but as one of my finishing touches on the exterior look of my lancer (viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1498&p=50928#p50928)
after repaint, tinting, vertex bodykit, angel eyes and wing removal, and countless dollars later i wanna put stretched tyres on

Does anyone know if they'd fit, and what I'd have to do to install them? I'm lost here, i actually don't know anything about it

Umm what kind of wheels you goin to use?
What size, offset, and all that
Im gettin 205 45 17 on a 8in wide wheel with +25 and will poke out the guards so need strech tyres

the idea of stretched tyres is to put a normal size tyre on a wide rim so the rim poke outside the guard and the tyre is flush with the guard or a bit in

so like a 195 or 205 tyre on a 8" rim.

essentially you need to buy new wheels with the right width and offset, a thin tyre, get someone to fit it if the stretch is redic and roll your guards to suit. some people dont like it, and it does change the way the car handles

Hurry up and fit yours john!

again, i dont know much about it so i dont know what wheels im going to put on, it'll have a vertex kit and wide fenders to make it look more flush with the car (i dont like over the top obvious upgrades... tasteful *poo*)

doubts on the wide fenders, its too much $$ and touble, nobody does it cos of cost and cutting into the rear body (only the evo wannabe's who want proper evo kit do it these days)

i would do some googling around and looking on rim sites and find some wide 16-17" rims that you like which are 8" wide, with low offset
then after you get them, go to a tyre place ask for some thinner width tyres to be stretched on them

most importantly do some googling to get some extra info and undertstanding, we can tell u what we think, but there are better explanations out there and if ur keen on it you will put in the effort to look them up

Vertex needs 17's or 18's. Hard to find 17x8 or 9's in the right offset and stud pattern
