Seat Upgrade Info - Evo Recaro, FTO, ect.

Cheers guys much appreciated.

Been onto SAAS this morning, website has nothing but hoping to get an email response.

Also tired a few wreckers around sydney, unfortunately, no rails. I anyone has or knows of 2x pairs floating around please PM me.

Cheers

UPDATE: so been on to SAAS who have been heaps helpful. They sent me some rails after a few photos and some measurements, but unfortunately they are no good, even though they are labelled for the 01-02 lancer.

they look like they will fit, but as you see below, all 4 points are just off, with the front 2 being about 60mm to close

1st image - back inside closest to tunnel.
2nd image - overall rail centred on outside rear point. All 3 others are off.
3rd image - front 2 points. As you can see, alignment is okay, but spacing is off.
Also the overall seat rail is sloped towards the rear of the car. If the fixing points were bang on, then I think you could make this work, with a big hammer.

so the hunt continues. Evo, 4,5 or 6 rails. Anyone, anywhere ???

How much should I expect to pay for a set of Evo 4 Seats?

I picked up my first pair of those for $450, but like 7 years ago.
Then paid $600 for my Evo6 recaro’s.

Unfortunately covid tax is killing them. I’ve seen some people asking as much as $2500 for them which is ridiculous.
Id try not to pay more than $800-1K in the current climate. Might be hard to find cheap ones though.

I sold my recent set of evo 6 seats in average condition for about 1k so this is about spot on i think market-wise

Thanks guys. Saw a guy near me put a set up for 1.1k, considering grabbing them while I have the chance.

Condition plays a huge factor though. Excellent condition seats with no wear/fraying are gold. Conversely, if there's major wear, to me they're kinda worthless. Still - paying up to $2500 is just nuts. I might pay that if I was doing a refurb on a valuable Evo 6. I would not spend $2k+ on seats for an old Mirage/Lancer that's only worth $3/5/7k.

Do many people adapt WRX seats? They are very nicely designed and great value - you can pick up an excellent pair for $3-500. I'm looking to do this.

Any seat can be put in if you can fabricate or have someone fabricate an adapter for the seat rails.

Yes of course they can be made to fit, thats what I’d be doing if I went that way.

Was just wondering if many on here have - they’re about the best value ‘good’ seats you can buy.

Completely understand the value behind them.

But to answer if many people have done it? None that I know of. You can be the first to do so and document the process and put it in a guide for others to follow. I'm sure it will benefit the community with more options and not be limited to Evo 456 seats or proton GTI seats.

Front mount spacing is only ~35mm different (Mitsu wider spread), so fashioning up some custom 'end plates' for the Subaru rails wouldn't be overly difficult. The rear mounting is totally different between the two cars and would require a rethink. If and when I can jump on a good set of 01-05 WRX seats, we shall make it happen. Unfortunately most are quite worn by now.

Hi All - digging up an old thread.
I managed to secure a fixed back Cobra Monaco seat off a mate for $100 and am wanting to install it in my track / khanacross CE Lancer. Now that I have done some digging, it sounds like I may have some issues mounting it in a CE lancer. If I read this thread correctly, is the idea that I need Evo 4-6 slides to bolt to the standard CE chassis and then put the seat on top of that with some form of mounts like these - http://www.revolutionracegear.com.au/?PCID=10554&PSO=245&PSID=4595095343&PSV=Primary&CDO= ?

Any information / links from people who were able to successfully install anything other than bolt in Evo seats would be appreciated.

If the seat manufacturer makes Evo 4/5/6 rails for that seat then just order those and then they should bolt right in in theory, I've heard that Evo 4 are slightly different so better to go for 5/6 if possible
