RPW Billet cam 4G94

You’d need to let us know what sort of a profile you’re looking at selecting for your cam.

The 94 doesn’t make so much power in the upper rpm range, so you could get away with a more aggressive lift in the cam without the need for stiffer valve springs. (In a 94 you’ll be shifting around 1000rpm lower than a 93)

the best supporting mod for a cam is a tune - make sure to have done all your other engine related mods before you take the car for a tune

Yeah ok thanks for that I was planning for the stage 2 profile cam and I'm leaving it non-turbo

for the other mods, the car right now is completely stock except for extractors and a Catback installed via a shop and this was before I had the car
for a tune would I need to look at getting an ECU or can I use the stock ECU and tune for that somehow

seems like you have a CH lancer? If so, they are tuneable by anyone who can tune standard evo4-8 ECU’s. You can even do it yourself - but it is a lot of learning.
 
yea sorry probably should have clarified that but would you know what kinda gear it requires to plug into the ECU i know a little bit about GM's tunning seen so is it any think like that
 
You’ll need a tactrix open port 2 with the MUT connector. The software I use and recommend is ECU Flash for tuning and EvoScan + Excel for data logging and reviewing.

the hard part with these is not so much tuning but that you need a way to translate the data from the ecu into a tunable format.
All this software is open source so it’s all user developed content.

each ECU has a rom file inside it. You need a definition to “translate” the data in the rom into readable/tuneable tables inside EcuFlash. getting the rom is easy, but the definition for 4g94 lancers can be tricky, there arent any By default in the ecuflash catalouge.

theres a good yourube series on how to use ecu flash - id watch this first and see id youre still up for it
 
yea ok sounds good currently watching the videos but I'm stuck on if I need to make a whole new definition for the 4g94 or is there one out there that I could use if I get past that I belive I'm good to start
