Hey tron, where abouts can i find the caliper seal kit? i'm tryin to rebuild a proton caliper or would any caliper seal kit work? no luck on ebay.

Maybe try getting in contact with repco or bursons, or you might have to get a brakes/workshop to do them which is more costly

Heres one tron prepared earlier:

Willy,

The caliper seal kit needs to match the caliper, because different calipers have different diameters and dust boot designs, sure some are compatible, ie FTO and EVO3.
You can get them from most spare parts places, Mitsubishi or Proton themselves, in which case you will probs need a chassis number. You can also get them from brake and clutch repairers.

So I am on the right path for my rebuild but having problems with removing the wire band that holds the rubber grommet in place in the piston wall have tried to find the join but just can't find it tried prying it out with screw driver and even paint tin lid opener....

The calipers are from a FTO

Yer that's always hard, specially when the calipers are old and have crap everywhere.

I found best way was to buy a kinchrome seal pick set. Or use a scribe, you need something really sharp. Possible 2 pieces, one to pull the clip away from the wall pointing in from the front, and another to push it up and out coming in flat from the side.

Also, I'm assuming you have the piston out, just yank/ rip the seal out. It should clear some space.

Ok so I just need to perserver with it, yeah got pistons out they had seized up on me cleaned the piston up with 1500 WD and then polished up picked up a seal kit for $70
