this is how to program the factory remote on a CE lancer or mirage, i've taken this striaght from the factory install manual

Procedure (with at least 1 functional transmitter)

a. Ensure a door is open.
b. Arm then disarm the system.
c. Within 20 seconds of disarming, turn the ignition key from the "OFF" position to the "ACC" position 20 times leaving the key in the "OFF" position after the twentieth turn.
d. The vehicle's indicators will flash 20 times to indicate sucessful entry.
e. Once the indicators have finished flashing press the lock button (channel 1) on each of the transmitters you wish to program.
f. Once finished turn the ignition key to the "ACC" position to lock in and exit from programming mode.

Procedure (without transmitters)
a. Ensure a door is open.
b. Disconnect the negative battery cable, wait 5 seconds then reconnect.
NOTE: If the system begins to sound when power is reconnected then proceed to step (c), otherwise go to step (d).
c. Turn the ignition switch from the "OFF" to "ACC" position 10 times to manually override the alarm, Note: after the tenth turn leave the key in the OFF position and wait for the system to disarm after approximately 10 seconds.
d. Within 20 seconds of disarming, turn the ignition key from the "OFF" position to the "ACC" position 20 times leaving the key in the "OFF" position after the twentieth turn.
e. The vehicle's indicators will flash 20 times to indicate sucessful entry.
f. Once the indicators have finished flashing press the lock button (channel 1)( on each of the transmitters you wish to program.
g. Once finished turn the ignition key to the "ACC" position to lock in and exit from programming mode.

programming a factory ce remote

Thank you!!!! I shall try this with my mates remote hopefully tomorrow.

Nice write up. Ive stickeyd it and also capitalised the topic name (pet peeve sorry)

So I tried this yesterday, didn't work..

Disconnected the battery, connected it again then 5 seconds later my immobiliser goes off, so I did the turn to ACC and OFF 10 times and it doesn't do anything, so I had to use the key thing to disarm the immobiliser that I have.

So then tried disarming immobiliser like normal with the key thing, then turning from OFF to ACC 20 times and still didn't do anything.

I think the immobiliser the previous owner put in meant not having keyless entry which is stupid. He didn't even give me the spare keys cuz he "couldn't find it"... retard

The most annoying thing is, I should have a fob that disarms the immobiliser wirelessly when I'm within range and not have to use this key thing EVERY TIME I want to start the car, dammit!!

Oh well

Is the immobilizer OEM or aftermarket?

If it's aftermarket then you're going to have a bad time imo.

Oh well

as above that sounds aftermarket and unfortunately the programming instructions will only work with the genuine Mitsubishi keyless entry system.

Yea lol I know it's aftermarket. It's a Laserline brand one. It's got motion sensors and everything but I took them out not knowing what they were for. Need to re connect those things. And I dunno if I'd want to rip it all out. It's connected to so many things and can't be bothered. A little extra security can't be bad anyway.

Oh well, no keyless entry for me :'( :'(

Where can i get a real factory 2001 mitsubishi lance ce coupe alarm/central locking remote? All the ones i have got from ebay have not worked or been fake

I tried doing this about 20 times the other day and couldnt get it. Ive got the install manual etc same as the op but couldnt work the timing out obv.
I know on a different alarm I had once you had to get the timing right ( eg how fast or slow you did the sequence ) but I couldnt get the mitsu one.
Anyone done these steps and succeeded? Any tips?

I have also done these steps a ton of times and not succeeded. I am 99% sure my car used to have remotes so it had all the wiring so I thought I could borrow my mates fob to see if it would program.

my fob has a big chunk of plastic missing lol, idk how it happened. want an alarm system that makes those cool locking noises or remote startup :D

does anyone have an image of the fob that works with the CE Lancers?

if anyone does, do you mind posting images of it here?
