Need Help with my CC Lancer

Hi
I recently bought a 94 cc lancer glxi and have nothing but trouble finding parts for it.
Its a 1.6L 4G92 SOHC efi 5 speed, 5 door coupe
I just looked up the model number and it doesn't make sense either. According to the model number (C66ALNDER8) the "L" stands for 4 door wagon, which it isn't, but the wagon has different cv joints, which is probably why I keep getting sent the wrong stuff. Apparently the front indicators are different on the 3 door and 5 door models. The prefix C66 I cant find at all. They all start with CA4, or something like that.
Does anyone know? Should I tell suppliers it is a wagon to avoid the confusion that is always creates. Its driving me mad

So you have a wagon or a hatch? If wagon I don't think you have a 4g92, more likely a 4g93 unless someone did a weird backwards conversion because glxi are g93 standard.

I have a glxi 5 door hatch/coupe. Its actually more like a liftback. Its a 4g92 standard as its on the plates. This poor thing has been so neglected. I bought it for $50 mainly because it was $50 and the major concern is cv joints. I also have a 97 CE mirage and the engine did 350,000kms before it burn out a couple valves. Bought a low km engine for $400 and 4 days later its running me back to work. Mitsubishi make a good engine, and this one doesn't miss a beat, seems a shame to let it rot

Ok you have a hatch, a lot of the parts are going to be different because hatches were the black sheep of the CC family. Different engine, different parts, different suspension etc. You'll have a lot more in common with CBs which is probably where the confusion comes from.

OK Thanks :)
At least I know what to look for. Do you know if this one is included in the workshop manual? I was going to get supercheap to get me one in, it would suck if it wasn't in there

It certainly is. Most of the manual is for base model cb/cc with no power options etc so using it for my top spec CC has been... interesting. Get the Gregorys manual not Haynes.

Thanks I will. I have a gregorys for my mirage, and it has never led me astray :)

So yeah you share more in common with the cb lancer than cc. When parts hunting start with cb. As far as engine bits most of the rg9 series bits are interchangable

Thanks, good to know. Theres a guy selling his gsr cc dohc for next to nothing because the body is trashed. Its a 4g92 also, does that simply have a different head?

4g92 dohc? That doesn't exist unless he's put a dohc head on a sohc block or it's mivec. Either way it'd be a 1.6L then
