Mirage tach dash swap - no mods required?

Hi all

Sourced a 4G15 tach dash from the wreckers yesterday, expecting to need to rig up the earth piggyback, and fiddle around tapping into ECU Pin 58, per all the discussion topics.

Lo and behold - plugged it in, and the tach fired right up! Is this unusual? Car is a 1/2003.

So a 4g15 tach dash will work off the bat in a 4g15. The are pretty hard to come by, so congratulations on the good luck!

I was under the impression that a 4G15 dash was definitely required (as the 1.8 tacho isn't compatible and jumps around), but that a separate earth/tacho signal splice job was required regardless?
