What you will need
1) Wire strippers
2) 2 lengths of wire, between 80 - 100cm long each
3) 10mm Spanner or socket
4) Flat blade and Phillips head screw driver
5) Soldering iron, solder, heat shrink, lighter
6) Drill with various size drill bits
7) Pliers
8) Side cutters

What to do

1) Remove the wing by loosening the 3 bolts on the underside of the boot.

2) On the left side and center of the boot lid, remove the white plastic clips that hold the wing in place with a flat head screw driver.(if they are there).

3) On the underside of the wing, Unscrew the 4 bolts holding the center piece to the wing and remove it.

4) Pull the brake light cable through the center piece and Cut it about half way down from the white connector.

5) Extend the brake light lead by about an extra 80-100cm (don't reattach the white connector yet)

6) Drill a hole in the flat area next the the brake light lead, on the underside of the wing.(the hole will have to roughly be as big as the largest hole in the center of the boot where the rubber grommet used to go through the boot lid).

7) Run the wires through the hole and push the original rubber grommet into the new hole.

8) Cut off the plastic clip on the left hand side of the wing, near the bolt that attaches to the boot lid and then drill a hole big enough to pull the wires through.

9) Use a piece of strong wire to fish out the cables inside the wing.

10) Now you should have the wires routed to the side of the wing, and hanging out the left hand side.

11) place the wing on the boot lid and push the wires through the hole where the small plastic clip used to hold the boot together.

12) replace the 2 bolts (on either side of the boot) to hold the wing to the boot lid.

13) Reconnect the white brake light plug to the end of the new wires.

14) run the plug through the top of the boot to the other end of the connector and plug it in.

15) Find 3 rubber grommets (from autobarn, supercheap or bunnings) and plug up the holes in the boot lid where the center piece used to be attached.

FINISHED!

also, the wing does slightly get minimal sag in the centre from the weight after time. not very noticable though

well that's what you'd expect from all the downforce it generates :p

Hey guys, just checking out this DIY. I love the look, much better.

My question is.. Do the grommets look weird as balls on the roof lid under the wing?
