How is it supposed to feel when turning the engine over by hand?

Hey all,

Bought a 4G93 engine, removed the belt and crankshaft/ camshaft pulleys (forgetting to mark the crankshaft pulley) and have since put it back together in the alignment that I THINK is correct. I'm worried my impact may have moved the pulley positions when undoing/ doing back up, despite my best efforts to keep them still with a tool.

With no accessories attached and spark plugs out it turns over 90 degrees relatively tough, turns the next 90 easily, and it repeats. I don't hear any clunking from the cylinders/ valves, but I just want to know whether this sounds normal for other 4G93 engines so I'm more confident in starting it for the first time .

Thanks

Does it look like this ?
Ah so there IS timing marks on the crankshaft pulley! Could not find them for the life of me. Thank you!! I can't remember if I had aligned that previously, I'll definitely be double checking that tomorrow. Really appreciate it :)

Nevermind that, just looked back at my footage of the engine and I had it aligned. Reckon if they're both consistently matching up (cam and crank marks) it's good to go?

If marks are spot on then try turn the engine via crank and it should give you a complete revolution without stopping :)

I've turned the engine over at least 12 times since installing the timing belt and the timing marks are both still perfectly alligned. That brings a sense of relief! Thank you again, just needed some reassurance haha.

All good buddy, looks like you did the right thing.
Always remember to turn engines via crank vs cam in future :)

If there was no previous damage caused then she should fire up fine. Don't forget to prime some oil before letting her sing.
