Hi Flow Exhaust

Hey! Currently have a 2 inch stainless steel, mandrel bent catback with a 2 inch redback muffler on my ce lancer with a 4g93. About to install a hens cold air intake and one of his remapped ecus in the future. Am currently looking at an HKS Hi Flow muffler, they're 3.5 inch, was just wondering if installing this muffler would make me lose power as the diameter is so large, or if it would make little difference as the muffler is such a small part of the exhaust system. Thanks! :)

3.5" inlet or outlet?

If the inlet is the same as as your current and the outlet is just bigger/a bigger tip then I think it'll be fine.

However if the inlet is 3.5" then you'll have to mod your exhaust somehow to fit that larger diameter which could potentially create an area where there's less back pressure/flow. From what I've been told anything larger than 2.25" throughout can reduce low end power and it isn't required as it's just an Na, 2.5" and above is usually reserved for turbo applications as it needs the extra flow as it's moving a lot more exhaust.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
