Hi guys,

I have an MR front bar lined up, complete with fog lights and switch.

How do you go about hooking them up in my car and installing the switch?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers

I know when i got fog lights my ce 03 already had the wiring in place so the wiring should be there already ( for the switch is behind the dash to the right of steering wheel ) ( for the lights have a look in the engine bay at the bottom of the radiator either side should be unused plugs hanging ) that is where mine where. Hope that helps

Thank you so much!

Had a feeling it might already be wired in as there's a light for it in my tacho also.

After hooking them up through the harness and wires already existing, will the light on the tacho come on when the fogs are on?

And you don't need to run a separate power as its already connected?

Sorry for the noob questions, just want to make sure with electrician stuff! :D

If your car has a loom installed factory, everything should work.
Check the engine bay fuse box (passage side black box) for the correct relay.

If everything is there it should be a plug & play.

I just took mine out and can take pics if you need to see. (have just removed what you are putting in lol) Let me know if you want pics. To me a picture tells 1000 words :)

^^^ This guy.

If you follow your headlight wiring from your globes down to the chassis rails and beside your radiator, they'll be right there, tucked away, possibly taped up or zip tied back.

Pictures would be AMAZING!

gonna have to learn real quick then. you will have to manually run wires through the loom and to the switch and splice a ground and power...OR you pay a shop to do it. shouldnt be more than a couple labor hours.

If you dont have factory wiring. You'll have to manually hard wire them. Its easier if you hard wire them from the switch.f there should be 6 wires.

Red black-foglight power(turns foglights on when the switch is turned on)
Red-fuse in engine bay
White-constant power(connects to the wire in the white plug under the driver side footwell next to the relay box)
Black blue - acc switch(turns acc on when foglight is on)
Green white- acc light(turns the led in the switch on when foglight is on)
Brown(i forgot what colour but theres only six so..)-dimmer control(connects to the rheostat and controls brightness of the bulb in the switch)

The foglights will need 2 wires to activate them. The red black wire for power and a black wire to ground the circuit. Thats pretty much all of it.

Supercheap sell a driving light wiring kit, you could use it for fogs.

Regards to the 6 wires. I have swapped a complete Mr lancer loom into my mirage, so I've got the 6 wires in the plug for the OEM switch.
I've had a look online, and I can only find OEM switches with 4 contacts.
Is the OEM switch now a unicorn part? Or can I find it with the part number?

Any help or push in the right direction is appreciated

I have discovered that the switches I saw weren't the correct ones, they just didn't show the other 2 pins on the photos
