im looking at starting a boot install tomorow with MDF
im planning on making it with a custom floor, sides and back. so the whole thing but nothing fancy
im going to be doing it in white vinyl and my 12inch sub and my kenwood amp will prob be fitted to the back wall
i was basically hoping to get some feedback on doing the install as im unsure of a few things such as how the mdf is meant to sit in the boot and not move, and if im putting the sub on the back wall does it have to be a complete box or does it not matter.
thanks :)

Wow your gonna have fun, I really suggest you get some help if you really not sure if you need a complete box for your sub, I could help you if you lived up here.

And I have a complete install for two 12 inch subs. i guess your not interested anymore?

anyway, some advice, First off you need to make up some measurements from the boot to make the box. And yes you need to buy some brackets and screw it into the floor to the box so it doesnt move.

Second, make trim panels for the floor, sides and box. You need to use cardboard and cut it out in the shape you need from the shape inside the boot and you have your template for your mdf.

For your first time, I wish you luck!

thanks!
your boot inspired me to do my own so here goes nothing
my current idea im going with is creating the false floor in white vinyl. ive taken out the side parts and im planning on re-trimming it a bold colour.
for the moment my current sub box will be re-trimmed to match and placed in the middle of the boot with brackets until ive decided on my end idea.
i was going to do it similar to yours but im not sure if i can part with all the boot space or not :p
everythings good and ready to start now. going to be fun :D

Ooh, boot install. I can't wait 'til the day I can afford to do one :D

Good luck, and listen to what Sam has to say ;)
