Heater core removal

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone on here knows what's involved in changing the heater core in a GSR 1994 Aussie spec Lancer......I'm guessing the dash has to come out,just hoping to hear from someone that's done it........

You will most certainly need to remove the dash. I haven't removed my heater core but have removed my aircon which is just next to it.
 
if you dont want to loose your a/c remove the dash and remove the big white box directly behind the radio...
 
Thanks for that guys,I may need to suss out the a/c too as its its out of gas and a few 'a/c gurus' think something behind the dash needs replacing too but Im not up with a/c stuff to know what it could be.......

Also,does anyone know where I can get another new heater core in Melbourne from??

if it doesnt need to be new try a wreckers
pull one of of a mirage or lancer ce
[edit] didnt realise we were talking about a cc
 
i am about to under take this task myself going to pull and replace the evaporator and heater cores in my coupe or at the very least pull the heater core out and put a servo motor for climate control on it. my evap box and core seems to leak refrigerant
