Exhaust Suggestions

G'day, I have a 06 ES CH Lancer with a 2.4L engine.
It sounds nice and has a crackle to it with the current exhaust, which I like. But I would like it louder as it isn't very noisy.
It has a 2.25" cat-back pipe with a resonator and a straight through muffler.

I was just wondering if anyone could suggest from experience what the best way to go would be. Hi flow cat? Replace resonator with hotdog? both maybe? Or something else

Larger diameter is always louder. Removing the res may help, but it can also introduce rasp
 
Thinking about getting a 2.5" straight pipe and welding a straight through muffler on and maybe a nice tip??
So no res
 
Far as I'm aware, predominant legal issues with exhaust mods, are noise level which would I feel be exceeded with what you plan to do.
the other is pollution, so if catalytic converter and relivent sensors are left in place things should probably be OK. You will need to check to be sure.
