Evo strut brace fit lancer ?

Just a quick question , will an evo vii or viii strut brace fit a CS / Ch lancer of the same year ? I found a cusco strut brace on eBay and the seller isn't sure if it will fit the lancer as its desined for the evo, looking at the bolt holes in the photo it looks like it will fit perfect I just want to know for sure before I purchase it .

incorrect. ch lancers are not as wide as evos therefore no braces from an evo fit a ch lancer.

really???
yes, the ch isn't as wide (on the outside) as an evo but that is due to the wide body kit and suspension geometry, plus wider wheels.
I wouldn't think that the strut tower positions would change between cars - that would mean they have different chassis. I've never tried though so couldn't be certain.

There's your answer. Because the suspension is different it won't work. Wider suspension means the strut sit wider apart. And yeah they have different chassis'. I believe the cg/h is a cs chassis and the evo is a ct**.



Edit: To confirm evo chassis code is a CT, where the standard FWD lancer is a CS - phone autocorrected to CZ on the train
 
Thats very confusing, i thought the width was only to do with the shell skin and not the strut towers etc lol

The strut distance should be the same, the control arms/tow arm/camber arms will be longer so compensate for the extra width

I'd be curious as to whether anyone could confirm or deny this, that being said if it has an evo application on the ad it seems to automatically double in price.
 
i measured my evo ix to skippy's ch awhile ago cause he wanted to know the same thing. turns out the front struts center to center were 100mm wider on the evo

well that is interesting a few years back I modified and fitted a Evo 7 3 point factory front strut bar to a CH Mivec apart from making the bolt holes a little more longer and no real place to mount to the firewall it was a good fit. we did remove the 3rd point on firewall but we could of reinforced the firewall to mount it...
 
must be difference between 7 and 8/9's.
