So went to change the drive shaft seal seeing as had the car a while, theres like 500ml fluid that comes out. type in the rego and order the part. fit it and it leaks all fluid out again, so now i have a mechanic to do the seal and the seal is id 41mm od 61mm but my shaft on the inner side is id 35mm and 61mm. there is no seal i can find to fix it. Anyone have any idea what the shaft is on my lancer. WTF has someone fitted to my car in it's previous life. no wonder its a *mum* to work on.
btw, mechanic is trying to source and fit the correct size now seeing as no seals can be found to fit.

What the gearbox number? you might have a 1.5L/1.8L combo mix n match

Im curious what the drive shaft really belongs to, and its definitely a 1.8l gearbox, my mechanic thought similarly but read out the numbers to my mechanic and he was here today, lucky he had a shaft to swap for me as there is no oil seal we could find for 35mm id and 61mm od. Now i have the 41mm id with 61mm od as it should be, No idea where this drive shaft came from or what it's originally off. tried searching for oil seals with 35 and 61 specs and nothing i could find. no wonder i had no oil in my gearbox for a while now, well about 500ml came out that was it. Lucky Mitsubishi is a kick ass car and gearbox still going great.
