Doea anyone know the width of the stock ce lancer front seats? Or the width of the evo 4/5/6 recaros that also fit?

About to get some after market seats (ultra lightweight bucket seats) and I dont have a tape measure on me as I'm away atm just wondering what the width of the stock seats are. The new seats im looking at are 20inch wide (about 50cm)
Cheers

Yikes, wouldn't be able to tell you sadly. What kind of seats are you looking at? Seen some strange setups using OEM seats from different manufactures, but in general I think the recaro Sr3 reps and genuines are pretty light, look great too.

These r polyethylene plastic seats, they only weigh about 5kg each and they bolt directly to the floor. They're far far lighter than most other bucket seats. Stock seats weigh 15kg, saas seats weigh like 14kg, recaros are also around that kinda weight so yeah.
Idk I swear feom memory the standard seats are around 20inches wide but my memory is fudgedScreenshot_20220523-083212_Chrome.jpg and I forget

Jesus son, Those will be spine breaking, light, but spine breaking. That being said, I don't know if you will even get it mod plated... unless you plan on swapping them in and out

Ill just put black seat covers over it and no one will ever know lol. And yeah I know it'll hurt on long journeys so ill stick some thing rubber foam pads on it probs

Expensive tho, I'm not paying more than 400 bucks for 2 seats cause it's ridiculous. Why tf would anyone pay like 800 bucks for a poly seats in 2022. Even aluminium seats. But I would get N aluminum seat cause there's some that ate cheap but they're more for drag racing and have extremely aggressive bolsters

I understand you’re on this light weight journey an all….but those seats aren’t designed for an open c0ckpit vehicle, especially one without any bar work. They’re more for something with a full cage like buggy.

It would be a very silly idea to use these in a car, let alone a street car.

You’d be better off buying a Velo bucket.

And considering the seat is what you’re sitting in, in a crash, it’s worth spending some money on something decent. Aftermarket recaros which are used in proper race cars and high end sports cars are around $2k per seat. Expensive but it the only thing stopping you turning into minced meat in an acco

Yeah I understand, but these seats are still stronger than my stock seats, and when I get a cage in it'll add to the safety so I'm not rlly fussed about any of it. Its also adr approved so its not like its just some cheap flimsy ebay crap. The only thing its not great in is comfort and I honestly don't care about that. A cushion underneath me and behind my back will be fine

Lightweight car company's such as lotus, caterham and ariel have been using super light poly seats for decades, and their seats are even thinner plastic in some models. Safety will not be reduced using this seat

How are you going to mount your seatbelt? Pretty sure that seat is meant to be fit with a harness, and without a cage or a properly designed rear bar, you wont have a solid mounting point for the harness.
What i mean is, if you have a properly designed mounting point for the harness, the weight of this mounting point will negate any saving that the seat will save.

Cheap, Safe, Functional. Pick two..

Edit: Evo Recaro from 4-9 will fit if you change the rails, width-wise..

When im free, I have to check how im going to mount my seat belt. I may have to custom make a bracket, and if so, fine by me. There is a slot on either side for the seat belt so in terms of that im good, but I will Have to figure out how secure the seat belt anchorage
