DIY - Installing a Bonnet Protector

You'd think this way pretty straightforward, but you do need to drill holes and stuff, so here goes.

What you will need:
Permanent marker
Power drill
1x smaller drill-bit
1x larger drill-bit (the size of the drill-bit should be equal to the size of the hole in the tabs of the bonnet protector)

What should come with your bonnet protector
2x metal clips
2x push pins
2x black plastic heads for the metal clips
2x clear protective film pieces
1x wax removing cloth OR wax n grease remover + a cloth

Step One
Pop the bonnet all the way up and drop the protector on top of it. Push the tabs on the bottom of the protector up against the bonnet, line it up straight and mark where there holes with a permanent marker.

Step Two
Grab your power drill and drill a hole slightly smaller than the opening of the hole on the tab of the protector. After you've drilled through the bonnet with the smaller drill-bit, use a slightly larger drill-bit (the same size as the hole in your protector) to open the hole up some more.

Step Three
Pop the protector back on, line the tabs up with the holes you just drilled, then check where the holes at the end of the protector are. Place a small piece of clear protective film underneath the hole, this is where your metal clip goes (the film is to protect your paintwork from the clip).

Step Four
Push your clips on. They will need to tuck under the black rubber strip running across the top of the inside of your bonnet.

Step Five
Put the protector back on, line up the holes again as before, then adjust the clip to suit. Put the plastic head on top of the clip and tighten it firmly.

Step Six
Line the holes up, push the black pin clips through the protector and into the holes you drilled into your bonnet. When fully inserted, check on the clips at the end of the protector again. They probably moved a little. Push them back on, line them up and tighten the black plastic head as hard as you can.
