alright so you'll need

  • Test lamp
    Some wire
    LEDs or other light source
    heat shrink
    sticky tape
    electrical tape
    lighter
and soldering equipment if you're bothered to solder it all.

Take out your rear seats and the trim where the seat belts go into. I did mine on the left side but it doesn't matter which side because the brake light wires go along both sides of the boot.

Unwrap the tape that sits under at the ceiling of the boot.

Unwrap the wires and find the green wire. In my car the wire was completely green for the brake light but it might be different in yours, idk.

Cut the wire and strip it then put a test lamp on it and press the break. If it lights up then you're good, if it doesn't then fix the wire up and try another wire.

Wrap your positive wire around a bare part of the green wire and shove it up through the side of the boot and up to where your trim lives.

depending on what light source you use, cut to length and tape it to the back window.

Decide where you want your ground to go.

connect the positive from your light to the positive wire you connected to your brake light wire

Connect the ground then go do some drifts

haha

i like it, you see this on some euros, but it runs about 7/8ths of the way across the roof as an "in cabin" light .

Yeah I saw it on a bmw last week and thought "wow, I want that" then I saw it on the drift cars and thought why not haha

bmw in pic for others

in the ghettoooooo~
i would have put it on the inside of the glass personally
room for improvment

It is on the inside, who puts electrics on the outside? that's dumb.

ah sorry got the wrong impression, not bad then, less tape then more permanent fixative (unless its just for funzies)

haha not half bad. Could mount it 1000 different ways. I have a spare wing light that i was thinking about mounting in the same place because i no longer have a third brake light, this seems easier and being me, i will probably try it too!

Probably the same guys that tape their cars together?? I don't mind sounding like a *Richard*. If your going to do a DIY for others to follow. Do it right. Its no wonder the road is full of cars falling to pieces. Who cuts a wire before testing it? Oh.... dumb people...

who tapes their car together? what are you on about?

So cutting a wire that you definitely know is the right wire will cause a car to fall to pieces?

not sure if you're taking the piss out of me or just saying this in general. Please specify next time.
