Hi everyone...

the material on my front door has come loose as all the glue has dried up and the trim has come unstuck..
so i am left with an hard and ugly plastic door card

have looked through all the DIY's trying to find a pictorial write up of how to re-trim the door cards, but could not find one.

Is there a pictorial DIY for the re-trim?

if anyone has any links to such a DIY (CE doors), it would be much appreciated...

want to do all four doors, and possibly the rear shelf (this should be straight forward though)

Not that i can find? Good project to start and write one up?
Was thinking of atacking these when i paint my door trims this weekend

Hey guys. I know this was a while ago but did anyone have any luck with revinly-ing etc? I'm keen to turn my interior black, almost all the way around if possible.

Also, sorry if I'm just oblivious to a different thread haha

Supercheap sells the glue for like 10 bucks a can. Cut the stuff to size. spray both surfaces wait till its tacky and stick them together. make sure you do it slowly so no bubbles or creases are left. creditcard to push the edges into the plastic crease. done. let it set for a few hours.

I trimmed my door cards,
ended up taking me about 20min each door, nice and simple.
it can be a bit tricky on the coupe due to the door card length and shape, but sedans are much easier

Looks great Ces!
Could you give some more details on that trim tape stuff? Is that from spotlight too?

fabric was from spotlight, trimming tape was from ebay, search up 'trim tape' on ebay, diff colors/types available

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw ... cat=131090

now just be warned, this stuff does fade.

Hey Ces

Do you think it would be possible to grab a bit more of a description in to the method. What did you use to glue the trim down? Also the method in keeping it nice and flat like that? How do you go about removing the old trim?

Something I'm hoping to do in the very near future also :)

Spectre you will need prepsol to remove the old glue/dust. You just pull thr old crap off. Buy the glue. Spray both surfaces let it get tacky then slowly put it on. It should stretch if you cut it right. You could try cutting it after with a razor aswell. If you wait a few weeks ill give this a go.

I ditched the material on mine and removed all the old glue sanded the whole door back and painted it. I have thought over times to paint that section where the trim was but add more gloss than the rest of the door to make it stand out. But at the moment its all white.

Selleys Quick Grip is good for fabric adhesive projects. So clean and easy to work with + no mess!

Hey man, I have looked all over the forums and it seems your one of the only ones who got the fabric down right, alot of us keep messing up, i have the glue, the fabric and everything but no matter how many times i try it it bubbles up and kinks around the corners rather than just glueing nice and flush. Do you have any more pointers? cause im about to quit and just paint it.
