DIY Brake Pads

I was happy with the greenstuff, but I got them pretty close to cost, they were pretty noisy wearing in as well. If getting them at normal retail id go with something else like what Ryan suggested

Cheers Ryan ill have to do it soon. Do you think it will fix the squeaky brakes when I reverse?

Depends on how much pad thickness exists. Usually the squeak is a wear indicator. It can also be caused by brake dust build up, so use a hose to clean the rotors whilst on the car.

Cheers ABS its quiet loud but ill try cleaning them and do the pads regardless =]
I recently changed to new Bendix pads for the rear. After a month since I washed my car, the brake dust build up caused a loud humming noise to return (forward or reverse). First I thought the pads were not suited to the discs or something. Then without a hose, I just used a small spray can to water down the dust - then noise never returned.

If you have non-steel wheels/rims, there is a higher chance of this build up due to it being more exposed to the open road. There are things called 'brake dust covers' or 'shields' which minimise brake dust build up and are dependent on rim size i believe, though most car manufacturers included them as standard nowadays.

Anyone looking for a cheap oem spec pad, I just fitted a set of HI-Q front brake pads to the slushbox. Korean made ceramic allegedly. Good bite, feels like stock for normal braking and pulls to a stop smoothly and witout squeak. Ill keep an eye on the dust.

I would not reccomend for track use with standard rotors, is the only downside. You get more than what you pay for, and trust me, i didnt pay much.
