DIY Black Tail Lights (image heavy)

Where did you pick those tail lights up from, I can only seem to find super tacky looking (opinion only) ones on ebay etc.. I think I want to try my hand at blacking out some lights and these ones looks legit as.
 
Soz guys, this is impossible. I've been trying for an hour. No deal, not happening, no how, no way. There's not even any visible silicone there on mine. It's like the plastic is just welded together! :'(

probably just not hot enough man, it should be hot enough so you can't even touch your finger on the plastic for more than a second, it takes a lot of heat and a lot of force to slowly break them apart. i gave up my first attempt too. make sure you have all of the screws out and with a knife you can wedge the clips open. they will bend back later
