there is one with a black surround, and if you want black ones just paint them

4 - only 2 on my reverse lights. First time job too, so it wasnt my best, done alot better since. And probs 4-5 clear coats on top.

Hi, I was planning to do some DIY tinting lights for my headlights but came across this one. Just thought I should share this?

Ehhh not a fan of the film, a guy around the corner did it on his CJ lancer after he saw that I did mine, but I sprayed mine, whereas he used the film, and I personally dont think it looks as good :D
plus, you have a chance for the film to peel and bubble I hear.

just tried to do this to my usdm lights, the glue on oem lights must be a lot better cause im finding it real hard to get them apart. gave up for today

i just left them in the oven until the glue was easy to seperate, i think it was only a few min (less that 10 if i recall correctly)
but the oven method can make the tail light covers very brittle and prone to cracking, so be careful
another method is putting them in a pot of water and heating them up like that,
but its been quite a while since i did this, so my memory is a bit hazy on it all

Sorry for the hijack image :D
I was wondering would it be illegal to just put this on the car without the lens/cover. I am looking/thinking off doing it on mine, and obviously will have to do some modifications.

Hard to say man, i knew a few years back you couldnt have tail lights without a cover, and these were frowned apon
but alot of the newer cars have tail lights this style, so id prolly check with your states RTA before doin it

Yeah. I have seen the newer cars these days don't have the cover. After all these are aftermarket tail lights and the globes are fully covered unlike the stock tail lights, if you take the cover off the globes are exposed. Would be interesting to find out, I'll try investigate it if its legal or not.

Nice work, it's a shame this kind of mod was never an option on the CC, I'd love to have 3-4 round light clusters on mine.
Covers or no covers.

I'll just have to get some Night Shade paint and do a couple of layers to darken them, but not too much. Bing an old fat the police shouldn't bother me.

sooooo.. which sealant would i have to get.. i really want to try this but i dont want to get the wrong sealant to close it up for good :/
