Cleaning the instrument cluster

I want to get rid of 20 years of dust behind the clear cover in my 93 Lancer but now sure how to remove it to do the job.

theres 2 screws in the plastic hood on the inside of the dash undo those and pull it out once out you should see 4 screws holding in the cluster undo those
gently pull the cluster out
now looking at the cluster you should see that it's in 2 pieces the white back and a black moulded part that the clear is mounter to there only plastic fingers holding the two together gently press the fingers in and pry the black away from the white once off you have access and can do similar with the clear.

hope this helps

Should be able to pull the clear straight off without separating black and white? Haven't done this in a while though....

Also make sure you don't touch the inside of the plastic after you clean it and make sure all your needles stay in their correct positions prior to pulling the cluster out

Thanks for the help.

Another thing to add to my want to do list.

Guess it's a good idea to take a few pics and not the trip meter in case it gets reset.
