Thought I'd start up a filter guide to help out fellow CJ owners.

Um Ryan seems this site is lacking CJ owners and is being taken over by CE's

Go collect more CJ peoples :D

Re: CJ Lancer Filter Guide

CJ Lancer Cabin Air filter: (Not carbon activated)

OEM part number: 7803A004 (~$50)
Ryco part number: RCA182P (~$25)
Wesfil part number:WACF0090 (~$25)

If you want a carbon activated filter, I found that a Mazda6 filter fits, albeit sideways. High is a little shorter too but it's fine. The part number for this one is RCA120C.

Re: CJ Lancer Filter Guide

I should probably get around to replacing mine.

Re: CJ Lancer Filter Guide

I replaced mine probably about 6 months ago, that would make it 2.5 years old at the time. This is what it looked like,

Re: CJ Lancer Filter Guide

Cheers for that. I replaced mine a while back so woulda been about year and half old and it was filthy. Really I think I need to do it each year....

Re: CJ Lancer Filter Guide

What's the difference between carbon activated? I presume just a better filtering method?

Does anyone know the size of the speakers in a 2014 CJ, i'd assume the same size as 2013 models but with all the random stuff theyve changed on the new one its anyones guess

For anyone looking to change their CJ Lancer (mine is 2011) air and oil filters on the cheap, here's my experience:

- Bought cheap air filter from: http://directautospares.com.au/AA520.html | Cost: $13.
- Bought cheap carbon activated (so they claim) cabin air filter from: http://directautospares.com.au/CF182C.html | Cost: $10.90
- Asked for a further discount (because it was cheaper on their eBay store than on their website... and also cos I'm cheap) via email and they sent me discount code for $3 off. That coupon code was/is '13.90'
- Postage for both = $16.90. Total cost: $37.80. When the products arrived, they were tagged with 'http://microautofilters.com.au', which seems to be a distributor rather than a retailer.
- Watched this video on how to change air filter (cos I'm an auto noob): http://youtu.be/pXVH4cMzDDM Turns out it's piss easy (take ~2 minutes to do).
- Here's the old versus the new filter:

- I am going to change the cabin filter tomorrow and found this video for guidance: http://youtu.be/eprhB8h3MA4

- Also, bought genuine value parts oil filter from here for $9 incl postage: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221440706554

Doubt they have changed and it'll be a 6.5" speaker. You either need to mutilate the existing speaker assembly, hack the door metal or fix 1 or 2 MDF spacers onto the door first. Option 3 is my preferred way of doing it.

In any case it only takes a few mins to pop the door off and double check what the speaker size is...

Highly doubt that is a genuine filter. Personally the only filter I would use on the CJ is OEM from a dealer, Ryco or K&N. K&N can be ordered cheap from Amazon ($15-20 per filter posted) and this is what I always ran on my CJ when I had it. The part number shouldn't have changed for the newer CJs, so it would till be the HP-1010.

It was delivered (might have been by Startrack, not too clear on that) the day after I ordered with a card from Adam Green, Group Parts Manager at Brighton Mitsubishi (just around the corner from me). If it is a fake, it's really well done because the packaging and filter cover is all genuine Mitsubishi and the card looks quite nice and official. In fact, if anyone is interested, I would be happy to post the serial numbers on here for people to check with Mitsu. Well worth it if it saves you a buck

I believe there are two sizes of air filter for two different size air boxes for CJ depending on year produced. Not sure which is what.
