Charcoal Canister removal 4G93 - Solenoid?

Hi all,

I'm looking to remove the charcoal canister and lines from my CE motorkhana/track car (1.8 4G93 engine). This is to free up some real estate in the engine bay and simplify under-bonnet hoses etc.

I'll plumb the fuel tank vent away somewhere like the chassis rail, but have two questions regarding the engine bay side of things:

1) Can I just cap the throttle body connection/hose? and;
2) What do I do with the solenoid ? Can I remove it, or will this throw a check engine light or anything?

Any advice appreciated!!

Did you resolve this? I would like to do the same
Yep ditched it. As described, plug the port on top of the throttle body, find somewhere to stuff the vent coming from the tank (and/or put a filter on it). Unplug the solenoid and discard.
I didn’t get any CEL’s or other related issues.

Awesome. What did you use to plug the port on the top of the TB, and where is the charcoal canister solenoid located?
