Hey guys, First Post on AUSLancers, As the title suggest I'm debating on buying a 2004 CH VRX lancer (Wagon) just want some insight of the modding experience about the wagon model. I'm also looking to maybe engine swap it with hopefully a 4G63 in the future and just wondering about the compatibility and any fitment issues
Welcome to the forum, you will find all parts are interchangeable with ch sedan vrx/es and most mechanical and many body panels from cg sedan. If your looking at a 2004 to mid 2006 fitted with 2 lt, post 2006 to 2008 then 2.4lt fitted.
The 2.4 has more mod potentional with lots after market available, and produces more power, the 2lt more economical
After market bits getting harder to find due to age, but many bits still can be found, if you looking at vrx wagon, they come pretty well fully loaded with everything.
Vrx will be a 5 x 114.3 pcd with aprox offset 36p, 16 inch, you can fit up to 18” but may need to roll guards, 17 inch no problems clearance, vrx is 25mm lower the es sedan or wagon, it has handles quite well with stock suspension.
I bought my ch manual wagon new in 2004, done 160k, still sits in garage driven only every second weekend to town and back.
