Hi Team,

Not sure on this one. Come home last night and Wifey got some stuff out and exclaimed that the boot floor was very hot. First time I have noticed it - too hot to touch Got the temp gauge out, just on 52C. I thought it may have been heat transfer from the muffler, but, with the distance gap and air flow over the muffler, I did not think this to be the cause. Had travelled about 20 Ks, street and motor way driving. Today, floor temp at 55C, after 17.5 Ks of normal street driving. Air space, around cat, at 87C. HAs anyone had this before, please?

Two main points would be heat shield, has it fallen off? And do you still have the boot floor and carpet in there?

Nothing else in that area is generating enough heat to transfer it except the exhaust.

Many thanks, just checked and cannot see anything over the muffler, and the carpet is there but has been moved away. I had the shocks replaced last week, so the shield may have been removed. I have booked with mechanic to check. KR Greg K

Thanks, I did not know they had a shield, all is up and away from the boot floor.
