Central Locking

So our 2004 CH VR-X only came with 1 key
The key head has no buttons for central locking
So the question is:

Did the CH VR-X Lancer come with remote central locking?

yeah it would of it would be a 2 button remote.
it will look like the cg one.

So I spoke to the locksmith and gave him my VIN.
After looking through several suppliers here is what he had to say.
The remote is separate to the key and is worth - cough, splutter $332
He was unable to locate any non-genuine alternatives. :thumbdown:
Coding the key is an additional charge.

Same ebay guy has key with remote for $200 + coding.

If your key is fine, maybe you could get an aftermarket alarm with remote .

I wouldnt trust eBay when it comes to key coding. Best to do it in person.

Try more than one locksmith, theres bound to be something cheaper than $332. If you were in Sydney, I could recommend you some.

Youll need to find the remote keyless entry under your dash if there is one. I dont know if they are the same as CE models which pretty much all have central locking via the key but not all have remote installed.
And if it is like CE the remote has to be programmed with the car and the key coding has to be done by mitsu or a key cutter, most of them wont guarantee key coding on CE's due to mitsubishi way of coding.
I noticed a few people have bought a fob and tried to program it because there car has central locking via key, but if there is no remote central locking installed (optional on ce's) its a waste of time.
